MATIZ COLLECTION
Matiz (mah.teez), meaning hue in the Spanish language, designs artisanal work that respects and preserves the indigenous traditions of handmade textiles. Influenced by Oaxaca’s mountainous landscape, collection no.1 mimics the states’ rugged terrain and rich earth. Matiz rugs emulate the diverse topography through distinctive contour lines and bold colors that reflect the local materials and outside surroundings. Each handmade piece is the result of a careful production process woven in Oaxaca Mexico in 100% wool with natural dyes. DESIGNS
All designs are available in standard sizes of 2’0” x 3’6”, 5’0” x 7’0”, and 6’0” x 9’0”. Custom sizes and colors can be ordered up to a 10’ x 15’ size.

ARTISAN LIFESTYLE
Local Portland designer, Jezarely Miguel began Matiz in the spirit of her love and admiration for her roots. Her designs are a reflection of the beautiful southern state of Oaxaca, Mexico, where her family’s story was founded. Located in the town of Teotitlan del Valle, the Matiz team continues to practice the traditional methods of rug making, a process that has been passed down for the past four generations. Each individual brings a wealth of knowledge, hard working hands, and the goal of creating beautiful, timeless creations. The end results are rugs that bring value and happiness to others lives, just as much as it does to them.
