Matiz (mah.teez), meaning hue in the Spanish language, designs artisanal work that respects and preserves the indigenous traditions of handmade textiles. Inspired by Oaxaca’s colorful concrete facades and the naturally casted shadows, collection no. 2 honors the historical architecture that continues to dwell in the city. Our designs will transport you to the essence of Oaxaca, made up of the building's original stones, the natural wear of the brick, and the architectural play with light and shadow that enliven the streets. Each handmade piece is the result of a careful production process woven in Oaxaca Mexico in 100% wool with natural dyes. By stepping foot on Matiz rugs we invite you to experience these regions and Oaxaca’s natural wonders. 

All designs are available in standard sizes of 2’0” x 3’6”, 5’0” x 7’0”, and 6’0” x 9’0”. Custom sizes and colors can be ordered up to a 10’ x 15’ size.
